I know I have been MIA for a very long time... and I would like to explain briefly the reason for said absence:
As some of you may already know (at least those of you who have been following me for the better part of 7 or more years) I lost my mother to Lung Cancer back in early November of 2006. It was devastating and it took both my family and I a very long time to recover from the loss. It was... difficult. But with the support of my family (my dad especially) I was able to move forward with life and eventually get back to doing the things that gave me joy. I took on a handful of commissions and completed a couple of them. But unfortunately I was not able to complete all of them before my family and I again received another crushing bit of news; in late 2010 my dad was diagnosed with stage 3 Colon Cancer. I couldn't believe it. It had only been 4 years since my mother's passing... It was too much, too soon. We fought it for the better part of 2 years and at one point I honestly thought we were going to beat it back. But the effects of chemotherapy and other factors took a serious toll on my dad's body and eventually we came to a point where there was nothing more the doctors could do to help us. He passed away last April of 2012. Needless to say... it was an impossible loss. I honestly do not think I could have survived it if it weren't for the constant support and love of my family and friends.
I have been taking life one day at a time since then and do my best not to take on more that what is necessary. Working, keeping house, paying bills... you know, the inescapable show that must go on... and on.
So again, I am slowly making my way back to some semblance of normalcy in my life. And though some would consider a couple of past due commission to be an irrelevant thing in retrospect to all that has happened in the past 3 years... I can't help but feel the need to pay back what is owed of me. I may not have been in the forefront of my mind, but it has always been ON my mind. A since of unfinished business. A debt never repaid. So I'm taking this time right now (while things are somewhat calm) to reach out to those of you who are still expecting commissions from me. If you are still interested in receiving artwork from me, I ask that you please resend all descriptions and reference pictures of the characters you requested to be drawn so that I may complete your commissions and get them out to you ASAP. I have since replaced my old computer after receiving the "blue screen of death" so I will be needing to redo them from scratch. If you are no longer interested, then I will be more than happy to reimburse you for the total amount originally paid for said commission. Either way would be fine; I just want to make things right with you guys. I may be unbelievably late (and that is an understatement)... But I would never ever want any of you to think that I simply took your money and skipped out on you! So please hit me up via my NOTES and I will get back you to straight away.
Again, I hope you guys can understand and forgive me for my complete and total absence these past few years. Life is an incredibly unpredictable thing... and though I cannot guarantee that there will be no further delays or upsets in the future, I can at least say that for the moment things are stable and I will do my best to square things away here first before I perform any further disappearing acts.
Thanks so much for your patience in this matter...
Oh yes! And many thanks to those of you who sent me warm wishes and kind words via 'notes' and emails and letters... It really meant a lot to me and I hope to hear from you all again very soon.
